You don’t have to navigate the journey of adoption alone. Adoption can be challenging and emotional at times, but it’s a choice of love and humility for the sake of your child’s future.
While adoption is a bittersweet moment, ultimately, you’re choosing to offer another family a chance to care for them in a way you are not able to today. We’re here to help you learn about placing your child for adoption and be a support system for you along the way.
Information About Your Adoption Options
Texas Christian Adoptions is here to introduce you to all types of adoption plans you may proceed with. You have three potential options: open adoption, closed adoption, and semi-open adoption plans.
- Open Adoption: Often, adoptive families and birth parents move from semi-open adoption to open once everyone feels comfortable and safe with each other. Open adoption allows all parties to exchange identifying information and directly correspond with one another.
- Closed Adoption: Closed adoptions are pretty rare, but they could be for everyone’s safety if necessary. Closed adoption keeps everyone’s identity completely private.
- Semi-Open Adoption: Semi-open adoption is the most popular type of adoption. With this type of adoption, you, as the birth mother, choose the adoptive family, meet them and get a chance to know them on a surface level. You will also get updates and pictures for 18 years. Your Texas Christian Adoptions counselor can arrange any meetings that were agreed upon at the match meeting. With a Semi-Open Adoptions, last names, addresses and phone numbers are not shared. Some means of communications do allow you to communicate with each other (i.e. 23snaps). Each adoption is customized to your desires and wishes.
